This could be a useful tool for serial killers...
Schedule a cascade of taunting emails to occur AFTER you got caught and go to jail... making the authorities think the "real killer" is still out there and thus releasing you

A while back, some outfit was peddling a service to Christians that would send e-mails to their heathen relatives after the rapture, advising them that there was still time to get on the Jesus train. It was hilarious.
