Brett Favre will be back, and he'll make the decision more quickly this time than he did the last two years. He came too close and has too good a supporting cast to walk away wondering now. He also showed that he's still good. He may not have the mobility he did 10 years ago, but he's got a better head on his shoulders. There's way too much reason for him to return. He had ten times the reason NOT to return last season than he does this season. He'll be back. Bank on it. _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Have to agree, as Brett would not want it in his record to be known that his int in the red zone , would be his last play in his career. |

I'd love to see Favre come back next season. Thats just me speaking as a football fan. However, I had very strong feelings as I watched the NFC Championship that I was watching his last game.
I believe Joe Buck said that was his 309th consecutive start. That is insanely unbelievable. Especially for his position. _________________

Yeah, and like always, he's negative now, but assuming he has the ability to walk in three months, he'll have that itch again. Guys like him, it never goes away. _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Join the forums at bogsource.com now! |

I saw an interview with him before the game in which he said nothing can replace the high he gets from playing football. He took a brutal beating in that game, but once the bruises disappear, and he realizes how close he came to the Super Bowl, he'll be back. Honestly, the past season might've been his best ever, at age 40. _________________

As expected, Kurt Warner calls it a career. And a Hall of Fame one at that. What on earth is coach Wiz gonna do now? All that talent and Matt Leinart in the waiting.

Not a big surprise. Don't know if he's a first balloter, but definite HOFer. No question. _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Join the forums at bogsource.com now! |

Just read that Kurt Warner owns the top three passing yard records in Super Bowl history. Thats pretty freakin impressive. But I'd bet that a new number one and two are in the books after this Brees and Manning shootout next week. _________________

You know, dick, Matt Leinart may have gotten over that 'little league all star mentality' he came to Arizona with when a 35? year old "pecerived has been " kept him on the bench these past years.
He looked a lot better the few times he did play this year. |

See, I agree with the premise BD. QBs aren't supposed to come out of the gate as a rookie and play like Big Ben did, or Sanchez this season. They're supposed to develop and get used to the speed of the game and the complexity of the playbook. Guys like Alex Smith and Vince Young were labeled busts, and this year proved that maybe they just needed some time. But I watched a lot of Cards games, and Leinhart doesn't look like he has what it takes. And a lot of it is how clueless he looks out there.
But he wasn't accurate, he wasn't mobile, and he lacked confidence. If you can't get it done with Fitzgerald, Boldin, and Breaston, then I'm not sure you got what it takes. _________________
