The state of the union address is a constitutionally required event... What kind of pushback do you think there would be to add an amendment to require this kind of "question time" on a bi-annual basis? Seriously, this is like 86 minutes of the best political improv I've ever seen. Have any of our resident conservatives watched this? This is great. It's like both sides put down the poo-shovels for a second and had an adult conversation.

A lot of people are saying now that this kind of thing should be required. I'd be all for it. The Repubs have admitted that this was a mistake. Why would they do that? Because they know they got called out with people watching. Doesn't really matter which party it is, but if the minority party is pulling shenanigans, then we deserve to see the President who is in the majority party call them out while we get to watch. It would have been the same if Bush thought the Dems were lying back in 02 and we got to watch that on TV. There's no reason why this shouldn't happen every year in my opinion.

I've watched it twice!  It was definitely great seeing the Republicans & the President, going back & forth, actually discussing the issues & being civil about it. I'd love to see that more often!

I watched more cable news last evening than I have since the 2008 election. I was just flipping between channels hoping they'd show clips. Then ,y father inlaw posted a link where I could watch it in its entirety. That consumed six hours of my life. The country could definitely use more of that.
