I watched "Chinatown" again yesterday after having not seen it in many, many years, and while it was great as a period piece, I just can't say that it's among the best movies I've seen. In fact, I probably wouldn't put it in the Top 100. Maybe it's just my dislike for Faye Dunaway, or seeing the cameo by Roman Polanski and being reminded he's a child molester. _________________

Its still number one for me. Not a big fan of Dunaway myself, but its Nicholson's movie so I'm able to focus on him. _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Join the forums at bogsource.com now! |

I'm going to look through all the stuff you can stream on netflix and start a new thread sometime over the next couple days:
"Cylinsiers top 50 streamable netflix movies you must watch before you die." And I'll explain why I put each one on there. _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Join the forums at bogsource.com now! |

Enough in the same vein as Chinatown that i've heard some refer to it as a sequel. Which i don't think it actually is. Stars Nick Nolte. _________________ "Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter." ~Martin Luther King Jr.

Well, the official sequel to Chinatown was The Two Jakes. It was mediocre at best. I actually count Who Framed Roger Rabbit as an unofficial homage to Chinatown because it steals the plot of what would have been the third film in the franchise if the second had been better. _________________ The end is nigh!
