This for Polanski? I won't attend. The victim has asked that this all be dropped because she is tired of dealing with it. Out of respect for her, I refuse to contribute to bringing any more media attention to it. _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! You are certainly intitled to your opinion Monique, and I respect that. The rally is not just about Roman Polanski, it's just in light of the Polanski case. There is a bigger picture here. Every time someone sides with the perpetrator and makes them out to be the victim, it takes away the voice of the true victim. They are made to feel as though they are somehow to blame for what happened to them. As I am writing this to you Monique....a child has just been molested, a woman has just been raped....both are lying out there somewhere in pain, emotional and physical.....and also someone is out there that sides with the rapist....the voices of that child and woman have just been silenced. There is a bigger picture, and having been affected by rape personally, I would never seek to further hurt the victim of Roman Polanski. But, my voice as well as all other victims deserve to be heard, we want to stand up and shatter the silence of sexual violence. |

Why are you calling me Monique? I appreciate what you are doing and where you are coming from and I hope the rally goes well. I personally feel that this specific rally would not be a good investment of time for me personally as I feel that, even though it may not refer to Polanski's case directly, it is still happening as a result of that and may bring additional media attention to it, which is something I don't agree with. As for supporting rape victims, I will continue to take advantage of opportunities to donate to groups and foundations that seek to aide rap victims and educate the public about these vile crimes as well as making sure that I am voting for politicians that will do good things for the community, not the least of which is ensure justice is pursued and achieved for all citizens, especially rape and molestation victims who are too often allowed to slip through the cracks. Best of luck to you with the rally. _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Join the forums at bogsource.com now! |

Rape is one of the hardest crimes to prosecute, largely because of the social stigma associated with it. I am glad that groups are out there trying to speak out for victims. _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Join the forums at bogsource.com now! |

Yes and I support this rally whole heartedly. But did you have to put it on every section here? _________________
