E and Brant-I cannot argue with anything you just posted. However I think you will agree that neither party is the party of our grandfathers. In 2004 election cycle it was the fringe left that was getting all the media attention. The moderate dems got no coverage-it was the Soros's and Frankens and Moores that the media flocked to. Now it is the fringe of the repubs getting the attention.
Brant-I don't know where that Harris poll was conducted but I hang with a LOT of conservatives at times and none of them believes Obama is not a citizen or a Muslim.

Amph-you need to pay more attention to what I write here-I am very upset with my party as a whole at times.

I think Independent is a party, socialists, communists, democrats and republicans etc, have to register and vote in their primaries.

I just what to clarify a teensy weensy thing, if those people believe O isn't a Us citizen, so what? Who really gives a crap? Did they ask those people if they felt he should be some how not be a valid President now? For all the talk of loony Reps. there are plenty of loony Libs. Remember Bush was behind 9/11? How about Cheney and some midnight soldiers going in and damaging the New Orleans levees, just so they would break and only displace black people? Its easy to sit back and blame the lunatic fringes on the other side, but we all have loonies in our parties and unfortunately in our families.

The levees one is new to me. Haven't heard that before. Here's the difference: you never saw any news anchors who were 9/11 truthers or katrina truthers asking Bush to fess up. You never saw MSNBC give almost 24/7 coverage and legitimacy to those people. And you never saw Democratic congressmen demanding the President deliver a signed confession or release some written and documented alibi for his whereabouts during those times. But you see news anchors demanding birth certificates, you see 24/7 Fox News coverage of these people, and you see Republican congressmen openly admitting they don't believe Obama is a citizen. Yes, both sides have their crazies, but the Democrats have always kept their crazies locked in a basement somewhere. The Republicans are being lead by their crazies.

I think people who are not smart enough to turn off the caps are to blame.
