So the "sound file" is part of the flash? Or is the flash coding pulling an mp3 or wav or something like that to produce the sound?

It probably started as a wav or mp3. Then the sound file is embedded in flash and exported as a .swf file. Then they are using javascript to pull the .swf in...for some reason. I would have just embedded the swf directly, but that's me.
