The defending Stanley Cup Champs have lost five in a row.... and have not even earned a point. Now I read that winger Chris Kunitz is out 4-6 weeks. He will undergo surgery to have a torn abdominal muscle repaired. To be honest, I'm really excited because the Pens have called up my favorite Baby Pen, Luca Caputi. Keep an eye on this guy. He's fun to watch.

Big win last night. Malkin with a Hat Trick, Crosby with 2G & 4A, and the team, overall, looked like they had a fire lit under their azz. And for the first time in months, the Power Play was effective. Brent Johnson, a huge Led Zeppelin fan, looked very sharp and healthy in net. With a few minutes left, there was an ugly hit by Andy Sutton on Pascal Dupius. Duppers looked like he was unconsious for about 5-10 seconds while a pool of blood grew quickly near his face. Eventually, he was helped off the ice, and looks like a few stitches is all he needed.
Tomorrow, Ovechkin (his knees) and the rest of the Caps will be in town. I recommend watching this game. It'll be a good one.

Yes, I'm probably understating it by saying "a few stitches is all he'll need". He was probably concussed, and should sit a week or more.

Yeah, he was out cold and his face was all busted open. I think one of the worst feelings in the world would have to be waking up from a concussion, being like, "where the eff am I?" And then realizing your face is all sticky with blood and also friggin cold cause you were taking a nap on ice. All sorts of feelings I don't enjoy - disorientation, headache, sticky, bloody, and cold - rolled into one situation with the added embarrassment of having been knocked unconscious in front of thousands of people.

Glad to see Sutton was suspended for two games in which he must forfeit $31,088.08 of his salary.
