Just a fun place to geek out about Tech stuff you'd love to have if you had the money to get it. What I want:

A SSD SATA drive to install my operating system on so it boots up faster.

A couple other internal HDDs for all my other OSs that I'm playing around with (see the crazy project thread)

Two new monitors to replace my current ones, which are by far the worst part of my setup.

A set of speakers that don't have the woofer integrated in so I can control its volume separately.

My own server (not the network drive, but something I could run websites and internet apps off of).

A netbook with Chrome OS.

The Droid phone.

And, okay, since its just a wishlist, a second PC with a 1500 watt power supply and a motherboard with three nVidia 280 GTX cards in SLI mode with a single massive monitor with a 2ms response time and a Core i7 Arrandale processor with the aforementioned SSD for a fast boot on Windows 7 Ultimate and a couple other internal HDDs of about a TB each and a BD drive along with the CD/DVDR drive and 16 GB of ram and some serious effing cooling equipment and a battery backup system to protect that investment.

Yeah, that last one is like 7 grand easy, probably more.

Cy, have you seen this display from Alienware?

http://gizmodo.com/341413/alienware-curved-monitor-looks-like-its-from-another-planet

I don't know how I like the curvy thing... but I would like to get a very large widescreen... something in the 32 inch range... rather than doing a two headed thing like you have.

Two honkin' big flat screens with a dual mount stand to replace the monitors from my server and desktop.

Way better graphics card than is in my desktop at present.

A new blazin' fast router.

A better quality headset.

That's just silly. Do systems even support that resolution? I prefer two monitors to one big one because it allows me to run two applications side by side fill-screened as opposed to windowed. Just a quirk of my personality I guess. It also keeps my task bar relegated to one sceen as opposed to stretched across that whole width.

I can see liking having apps maximized instead of windowed... Do you use a ksm switch? Do you have multiple pc's running in your setup?

So my company is buying all of us cell phones; I'm getting a Blackberry Storm 2. Wanted a Droid, but what can you do? Its a free phone w/ unlimited data and they cover the plan. I'm not going to complain.

My brother in law just got a storm... I haven't played with it yet, but from the reviews, I don't think I'd like it... but blackberries are great regardless

Yeah, I'd read a lot about the Storm 1 and apparently it left some to be desired. The Storm 2 I played with today seemed pretty cool. It was either that or the Curve or the Tour or something like that. The other 2 are the traditional Blackberry shape with the retarded keyboard at the bottom which I hate.

Ah, I am a fan of the traditional BB... my first one was an 8703 which was the last of the BIG plastic ones the size of a running shoe Smile Loved it.

To each their own on the keyboard, though... I have gotten used to the iPhone keyboard, but I think a physical one would be better (hell, a foldable, detachable one that I could plug into it would be great for email)... but I would go crazy with the storm's unibutton clicking...

The Storm 2 has removed that tactile button feeling from screen pushing.

The qwerty keyboard is why I wanted the Droid; it slides out on that one. But the shape of it just isn't right on the traditional BB, plus I prefer the larger screen.
