Well amen to that! Sometimes you just have to talk to the most intelligent & understanding person you know.  |
I see and hear some of that at the casino where some talk to the machines, "7,7,another 7, another 7, then, "chit", which is a lot like those who talk to the tv screen watching sports, saying stuff like, "throw it", or 'shoot it,-- shoot it, dammit" or "slide, slide".
Then they look surprised when I tell them,"you know they can't hear you?" |

I once tried to crash graduate school by performing
a study that proved home teams win more often not
through crowd noise but through the manifestations
of quantum effects magnified by a collective desire...
The data was encouraging -- two full percentage
points above random, and discounting the effects of
noise involved in hockey shots and field goal kicks
I felt I had proved Jung's collective unconscious
could manipulate matter, and if enough people (Steelers
fans) desired a particular outcome, then they could
literally control the game.....
Unfortunately, my advisor recognized my fake transcripts
were from a college that burned down in 1983...
I still believe in individual prayer...Performed correctly, it will
deliver strength, wisdom, tolerance and patience
and nothing else
