I don't remember if I posted what I got from our office gift exchange... This is how we do it:
Everyone brings a gift.
Everyone gets a post it with a number on it.
Go in numerical order and "claim" a gift.
You can "bump" someone off a gift and they have to re-choose another gift.
When the last person goes and doesn't bump someone off a gift, it's over and you open gifts.
There are two gifts that everyone wants to get... the CEO's and the President's. The CEO's gift is usually cash (100 bucks)... but sometimes you have to make a choice between the gift and the "envelope in my pocket." The envelope may hold more or less than the package... that's the risk you take.
The president's gift is usually a theme gift. Two years ago it was a 24 pack of microbrews. He always jokes about his step daughter being an alcoholic (she's 24 and a recent WVU grad), so the beer was "Cara's survival kit"
Oh, and our president HATES penn state...
I got his gift again this year. It was the PSU Freshman Orientation Care Package.
It came in a cardboard box labeled with "Go Penn State" on the ends and a picture of Joe Paterno with a look of agony on his face with the words "I heart Joe-Pa"
Inside, there was:
A white t-shirt with a blue striped neck tie screen printed on the front of it.
An adult diaper (because Joe-Pa chit his pants that one time)
A penn state bumper sticker (Which I will be putting on HIS bumper once the road salt washes off his vehicle)
A bottle of absolut vodka (blue label- natch)
A bottle of Sweet Carolina... sweet tea-infused vodka. Now, I am a beverage purist. I like black coffee, black tea, neat scotch, vodka on the rocks and gin and tonic. I am VERY low maintenance unless you consider the cost for "good" beverages. But this stuff... is FREAKING AWESOME.
It is delicious. Out of the bottle, it is basically brown vodka. It suggests that you do equal parts sweet carolina and spring water... but if you pour it on ice and let it sit for a few minutes so the ice cubes melt a bit... it's amazing. I love this stuff and I've only had two drinks of it.
There's also a small bottle of country time lemonade in the box so you can use that as a mixer to make an arnold palmer cocktail.
Brant, I know you are a sweet tea guy... if you also like to get drunk (rhetorical statement), you have to give this a shot (pun intended).
Everyone else, too...
Oh, and if you didn't know... at Penn State games, they always play "Sweet Caroline"... hence the theme-continuity with the sweet carolina vodka. _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Join the forums at bogsource.com now! |

Believe me, I know where you are coming from... but I just have to mentally tell myself that this is NOT vodka... it may say vodka, but it's not. It's sweet tea that gets you drunk _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Join the forums at bogsource.com now! |

I used to drink Mike's Hard Lemonade when I first got into the concept of alcohol, but I grew out of that phase very quickly. Plus it was too hard a buzz to earn and it was chitty once you go it. I supposed the tea at least knocks you down quicker. Still, I actually like the taste of vodka straight up. The only thing I mix is gin, and the only thing I mix it with is tonic, and the only time I do that is in the summer when I'm riding in my escalade on 20 inch rims down compton avenue. _________________ The end is nigh! You rookies are making me laugh....
Try waking up freezing, in the sunlight, lying on a floor in a place you don't recognize and a day you can't name, lying in a puddle of urine and soaked in your own vomit and the only thing your half-open eyes can see is a still running porn website, and a fish floating upside down in the bowl. You realize you were awakened by your dog licking your face

I have been truly drunk only once and the hangover afterwards was reason enough for me to never to do it again! That was some 20 years ago and I killed a full bottle of rum (& Dr. Pepper) during a Superbowl. I still like an occasional drink, but don't care if I ever see another game again. _________________

I think getting bent on Captain and Mr. Pib should be step #1 in a one step journey to lifelong sobriety _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Join the forums at bogsource.com now! |

Had half a bottle of merlot, followed by two glasses of rum followed by a miller. That was the last time I ever switched types of alcohol. _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Join the forums at bogsource.com now! |

Every great writer I've ever admired was also a heavy drinker...
