Do you think the military's "don't ask, don't tell" policy is right?

Its not even a matter of right or wrong in my opinion. Its just silly and unnecessary. Whether or not you are open about being homosexual does not in any way change the professional chemistry of a workplace, or at least it shouldn't. _________________ The end is nigh! It's absolutely wrong to hold one group of people to a different standard than others. _________________

It's ridiculous.
On the one hand, supporters say we can't have gays be honest & open about their sexuality in the military because it's detrimental to unit cohesion. On the other, Don't Ask, Don't Tell investigations have actively pursued closeted service members, encouraged snitching, have set up suspected closeted active duty members for exposure, and often use intimidation in pursuit of asking and encouraging telling. Now how is THAT not detrimental to unit cohesion?
Check out the Service Members' Legal Defense Fund for links to all the government's own reports that support repealing DADT and many stories about the impact of DADT from soldiers. _________________ "Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter." ~Martin Luther King Jr.

It was a stupid policy in its inception and is severly outdated now. Who cares what the sexual preference of a soldier is as long as he/she does the job? _________________
