Pretty soon I will put in onions, more garlic and lettuce, way more then I did last year , when I wasn't sure if I wanted to do this again.
Amom, think the blight will hit the tomatoes 2 years in a row? |

We tilled up the garden this weekend and started tomato seeds yesterday in flats. Hopefully, Bus, the blight will stay away! I'm down to my last two or three jars of juice from 2008. _________________ -amom

Do you use grow lights? How big are your plants by the time you move them into the ground?
I'm still cleaning up the pine trees in the yard _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Join the forums at bogsource.com now! |

I actually just bought some nugget hop rhizomes over the weekend. I thought they'd be delivered by now. I heard it takes a year or two to get a good harvest, but I'm excited for what ever I can get.
This old black guy was just in my store yesterday telling me how he's counting on me to take a dozen of his tomatos. He knows I'm down for whateva he wants to throw my way. _________________

Since we have in-the-floor heat, we usually just place them on the floor near a window or two until they get about 3 or 4 inches high. Then we put them outside in the sun in a small greenhouse. They are usually 12-18 inches high when we transplant them to the real garden. (We dig the holes with a post-hole digger.) _________________ -amom

Are they grown on the floor in individual containers or a bunch in one container?
Got 2# white onion sets and 1# of yellow at Sav-a Lot for 99cents a pound as oppossed to $1.59+ at most places I have seen. |

me too, except if I grow something other then Better Girl or Boy, then I do a few in a smaller container, like grape or large red cherry, both of which are very good in a salad or just pick and eat. |

I would certainly expand my garden and beef up my fence another five feet. _________________
