I'm a little surprised Phony isn't here trying to rub it in as if we were all members or something.

it is his fault, they help the downtrodden (and sometimes the evil), so they are maybe, half bad.

We need to start a "Save the Acorn" foundation to help those who have no where to turn. Which reminds me, "why was there a mad rush to donate to Katrina and Haiti, but nothing for Chile?"

Chile came to the party too late. We already gave all our money to Haiti.

Lol @ SSSS! I thought exactly the same thing when I read that ACORN was shutting down...

Bus--We did send humanitarian aid to Chile. Hillary herself went down there. But Chile is not a poor country & since they have good infrastructure, the earthquake wasn't as catastrophic...Last I heard, the death toll in Chile was less than 1,000, while Haiti's was around 230,000. As for Katrina, it was our own people suffering & the death toll was around 1,800 to 2,500...

No buddy, not dead or people of color, I'm inclined to go along with Cy's answer, too soon, and Ondi's answer, which was, basically, good, make that, great pre-planning, given it was one of the largest quakes ever. Cool Cool

Too bad about ACORN though ,to crack right now, because I got a flyer in my storm door handle just now asking people to sign up for the Census takers jobs---$15-17 an hour.( call 1-866-861-2010) or (www.2010censusjobs.gov) for more info.

Idea Acorn could have helped a lot of people out here ,if only for awhile. Sad Sad

Let me see a 1,000 dead vs 230,000 dead...Yeah, I think a poor country with almost a quarter of a million dead may need more help. Also, Chileans are Hispanic...Is that different than being black? They are a minority!

From what I have heard only the name Acorn is going away. They will continue under another name doing the same crap and will continue getting federal funds to waste.

Hispanic is not a minority in Chile!!!!

You really don't understand context, do you? Blacks are not a minority in Haiti either. But people were saying that the Dems made a big deal about Haiti bc they're black & they want the black vote. I was pointing out that Chileans are Hispanic. So if the Dems just sent help for votes, they would've sent more help to Chile to get Hispanic votes...Hispanics ARE a minority here, in the US.
