All good comments Cy but it skirts the issue I raise-the COST of defensive medicine tests that insurance-big greedy conglomerates, or a single payer government-run insurance-have to pay for. If doctors did not feel the need to order unnecessary tests to cover their legal behinds, the cost would go down. It just seems like common sense to me.
Sure the cost of the lawsuit payouts is huge but most often the doctors are covered by a different insurance than those who provide HC insurance.

For me, it has nothing to do with my "team" winning. I would've been just as happy if Bush & the GOP had passed HCR in 2001, or 2002, or 2003, or 2004, or 2005, or 2006...

It would depend on how we got there. I think the reaction from the left has been relatively violent on this bill. A lot of vocal leftists are still crying and moaning over the shortcomings.

Actually, Obama's approval rating is up, his disapproval rating is down & polls are showing 49% of people approve the passing of the bill...The disapproval is now down to 40%...And Congressional Dems & Obama are viewed more favorably than Republicans...So don't discount the Dems just yet...
