Bus, that dovetails with what I was hearing last week. As I said on my blog a while back, anyone who thinks Tiger won't be back for the Masters is delusional.

Two separate sources came in last night saying that Tiger is targeting The Masters for his return. Obviously conflicting the reports that he'll be playing Arnold Palmer's Bay Hill. The report cited a more controlled environment in Augusta.... like no women 
So, I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Its official. Tiger will play the Masters. No tune up at Bay Hill necessary. Personally, I can't wait to watch this and expect Tiger to finish in the top 5.

If he wins, I'll still say he's awesome. I always like Tiger the golfer and frankly don't care about Tiger the failed husband. That's between him and his family and he doesn't deserve forgiveness for that, but its not a factor in my opinion of him as an athlete.

I couldn't agree more. I hear all of these talking heads saying how he's no longer a role model. He was never a role model because of his personal life. And he still should be a role model to any young kid who aspires to play golf. Despite his affairs, Tiger still embodies hardwork and dedication to every aspect of the game of golf.

He was never a role model at all to me. I suck at golf and have come to terms with that. But he's fun as hell to watch. Short of criminal acts, there's nothing that's going to make me less in awe of his SKILLZ.

Since this is the official golf thread, I wanted to mention that Trinity grad, Steve Wheatcroft tied for third in the Puerto Rico Open (and more importantly earned $168,000). Congrats on that!

It could have been so much better for Wheatcroft. He had four holes to play and was only one stroke behind the leader in the clubhouse. If he birdies one and pars the other three, he's in a playoff. Two birdies, and he wins. Instead, he comes in with two pars and two bogies. A win would have bought him two more years in tour. He cashed a nice check, but he has to be kicking himself over the missed opportunity.

That sucks. I knew he was in second going into the final round. Yeah, the winner, Derek Lamely, took home $630,000... quite the difference. And having a tour card through 2012 can be worth a hell of a lot also. Lamely did set a course record, shooting a 63.
