Much better, thanks. Though moron put in in a post and claims to not know how offensive it is. i suggest we put his original thread title on a tshirt, make him wear it, and drop him somewhere in Homewood. Perhaps then he'd learn how much it offends black people. But i doubt he's actually capable of learning much of anything. |

Hardly. And as far as Homewood goes, i walked through neighborhoods there every weekday for over a year when i worked in a warehouse right by the Tioga Club.

No, it was just the nearest neighborhood landmark. Where white people usually got the crap beat out of them if they happened by. About half a block from one of the top 3 crack distribution points in Pittsburgh, according to the Post Gazette back then. We used to be able to watch the crack dealers selling from the warehouse windows. i used to have to walk round that corner (and pass the bullet riddled stop sign) both to & from work every day. When my mom found out exactly where i'd worked about a year after i'd changed jobs, she almost had a heart attack thinking about it.

Buck is a word that was commonly used by slave traders in the US when referring to male slaves. The word still rankles many black people. BB's claim not to know this is completely unbelievable. Then again, he's retarded, both mentally and socially.

Wow. I'm with BowlingBall on this one. "Young buck" (edit if you feel its necessary) is a term that an older person uses to describe a younger person. I do correlate the term to something my grandpap's generation would've said. But we're being overly PC to edit every term that comes from this era.

Sorry, dick - we disagree on this one. The phrase is still a racially charged one for many blacks, and coming from a demonstrated bigot like Badly Boring, it's reasonable to find it objectionable.

As many phrases go, it depends on the context of its use. Clearly, BB meant it to be derogatory. Dick, your grandpap most likely would have meant it more as a term of endearment (eg, young whippersnapper).
