The Pentagon just gave KBR another big lucrative contract in Iraq. This is the same company that was turning showers into bug zappers with faulty wiring.
Well didn't everyone get their underwear twisted when Haliburton was getting contracts from the last administration?
And don't come back with Cheney's ties to Haliburton unless you are ready to discuss the Clinton admin using Haliburton on no bid contracts in Somalia and Bosnia.

This administration is doing TOO MUCH TOO SOON! Stimulus, health care, financial reform, cash for clunkers, Iraq, afghanistan... and now you want them to do no-bid contracts?! When does it end? Where does it stop? How much big government do you want in your life?!?!

Does someone in the current administration work for KBR? Did someone in Clinton's administration work for Haliburton? I think that was the major complaint about Haliburton under Bush. Cheney was still collecting paychecks from them when he was in office. That just doesn't look right.

That said, I think there is room to interview some contractors that haven't electrocuted any servicemen and maybe use them for providing field services...

Depends on what the other contractors do in their spare time.

There is so much of this going on and we only have one president, so I guess trying to police all of this stuff is as Brant would say" trying to herd a bunch of cats".

well, first of all that is what the whole cast of aides is for-so that one man does not have to do it all. And I am sure that KBR makes no political contributions.....ever......hmmmmmm

BTW-all investigations at the time proved that Cheney was NOT still getting checks from alliburton-no matter what Mike Moore said.

I'm not referring to Michael Moore. Cheney's tax returns are publicly available here:

Check the ones during the first term for yourself.

Come, SSSS, this is different.....we now have to be politically correct with a black man as president, and a DUMBO CRAP at that......so what was an injustice under Bush, is now an acceptable LIBCHIT practice.

I'm outraged!... Mad

No bid contracts can't be an efficent use of tax dollars. But I imagine there isn't a lot of competition in the global engineering and construction business. Oh well, they'll be out of there in a year. Oh wait Mad Twisted Evil

I love this tired old argument Cy-I do not have to explain deferred compensation to you do I? He would have received those checks no matter if Haliburton worked in Iraq or not. And the amount would have been the same no matter.
For the record, Haliburton was used by Clinton and Bush administrations for no-bid contracts because there are no other companies that can do what they do in a foreign country on short notice. It really is that simple.

I understand the concept of deferred compensation. Cheney received deferred compensation for agreeing ahead of time to throw Haliburton a bone if he ever made it into office. The upheld their end of the bargain.
