You guys,I know were all powerless about certain things and all but seriously, I am blown away by how bad the roads are here in Chartiers and well, everywhere-especially Washington. There is a section of West pike St between the High school and the Pie Place in Houston where there are trees barley hanging on to the hill-and many are leaning onto the power lines-DANGEROUSLY. My dad told me that the state is responsible for Pike St..What about the stimulous money? Isnt there some of that that will go to the roads?I know too that the serious work will wait until the weather gets warmer. While Im at it, the area going to Main St from Highland area is the most embarrassing bunch of houses and scum that is what, being ignored? How is that so awful? With the 200th birthday coming up--I cant believe how things are just being blown off-left and right. I had to verbalize you all--its so unreal to me. Thanks for the ear.

Spike, we as a nation are in dire straights, in ways too numerous to explain.

Just think of us as a nation whose finanaces were controlled by the Bernie Jackoffs for a long time, and then one day it was all gone, and our beautiful country estate called America slipped into total neglect.

Where once there beamed beauty, now is plain; where once the flowering beauty of color, now lies the bleakness of black and white.
Where once was joy, now reaps sorrow; where now we hope for a better morrow.

Spike, my friend, I didn't mean to either.

But having gone through these periods before several times and there were times when it seemed there was no hope at all and lasting for periods of several years, gradually the gray sky slowly exited, and the sun did re-appear.

Keep the faith my man, there will be a better tomorrow.

Hey Dick. Thanks for the hello.

Spike, the world is what you make of it. If you think the future is dark and gloomy, then it will be. If you make the best of it and stay positive, then you're in for a big let down Wink but at least you spread a positive attitude.

No way do I give up on faith. Its actually a very strong part of my life. I simply share thoughts and feelings as a way to manage them and seek support or an answer (hopefully) to what it is I am sharing. I was hoping someone with some connection would see the message and act upon it-like fix the roads. You never know, someone who can make a difference will see it and feel encouraged to act.And with old Dicknut, I never had any respect for one who insults my Lord at every opportunity. He can offer nothing to me, nor take away anything. I will however pray for the poor basturd. Very Happy

Spike, How is your son? I have been thinking of you and him over the past few days. A friends daughter has completed rehab and she has been doing well. It is early though and she is very young, only 17, she has great parents who deeply care and will eventually see her through this. Here's hoping your chin is up and your heart filled with the hope only a sober future can bring.

Dazes,

Hello there! Thanks for your heartfelt concern. He is doing good. He spent 28 days in Virginia and did awesome. He is now in A great 3/4 house in the very heart of Washington. A 3/4 house is different from 1/2 way houses in that it affords alot more freedom and opporunity for learning about living sober and finding friends. He gets back to work this week already and thats so cool. I picked him up yesterday and brought him home for awhile. The boy got on my drums and played like a professional--and even better! I was so proud. He has some learning to do yet-and by way of God, he will do ok. I would think that your friend's daughter will take with her the knowledge of being sober and how much better she will feel. She hopefully finds a support system and lives just one day at a time. Ill say a prayer for her and her parents. Having a loving family behind her will go far for her. Thanks again and take care! Wink

Hey Spike, this is PA. They are always really bad this time of year. There is never a time when they are good, just less bad. Now that there is no money at any level (absent stimulas $'s) they will most likely stay bad all year. But hey, that means more tires bought, more fornt end repairs. Thats another jobs package hidden from sight.

There are so many potholes on Jefferson Avenue that they sometimes stretch across the road, from one side to the other. You look like a slalom skier trying to avoid them.

Thats a good analogy. Jefferson has always been like that as far as I can remember. I'm sure its twice as bad after this past winter. (feels nice to say "past winter")

You know, we really might be out of the woods on winter. I was looking at a long-range AccuWeather forecast, and they predict high temps of 50 or more for the next 15 days. After that, it's almost April. We could still get snow measurable snow in late March or early April, but those snows disappear quickly. The potholes, however, will probably take much longer to disappear. Jefferson Avenue is just torn to hell. It really needs to be completely repaved.
