Bring new industries to those towns. How about a solar panel factory?

Then we are doomed to continue on the same path that Mullah O'sama O'bama claimed during his campaigning, he was going to fix....

The path forged by Republicans for the past 30 years.

Amphy, so Clinton (NAFTA, WTO) and Carter's wonderful administration, along with L.B.J.'s are blameless???????

Also, Amphy, let's not leave out one of the main LIBCHIT constituencies, the unions.....remember the three month vacation time of the STEEL WORKERS????

No, of course not. i've said in the past that i don't agree with all of President Clinton's policies. 'Free Trade' my behind. i'm all for fair import tariffs.

As for LBJ, that was so long ago to me - i was a child then. But the policies pursued most often by the Republican party over the past 30 years is still the path that we followed to get where our economy currently is.

Well, most of the damage done by the GOP was through the antics of "Bush Light"......He tried to act like a LIBCHIT for some strange reason or another. I don't understand his throwing money around like a typical DUMBO CRAP......Bush II abandoned all of the policies of the GOP when it came to the country's funding......

Rather more accurate would be to say that the GOP abandoned any principles it may have still been clinging to from the Eisenhower era.

I can agree with that.....Ike, in his position as President of the U.S.A., did what our founding fathers originally intended......AS LITTLE AS POSSIBLE....after Ike, the GOP, as well as the LIBS, became more and more involved in our everyday lives......every day that went by, regardless who was in power, we lost more and more of our freedom. Big government became the norm.

Buddy, it is way more complicated then as if Mother Liberty woke up one morning and decided to nestle us to her breast.

Ike protected and expanded social security and worker's compensation, deplored the communist witch hunts, worked hard to bring troops out of korea, made civil rights for minorities a White House issue, and instituted the largest social works project in the history of mankind, the Eisenhower Interstate System.....

Oh, and he also helped keep the tax rates on the wealthy at about 90% from 1948 through 1964...Other than that, he played golf a lot.

So, yeah, I'm with you on that -- I Like Ike

Yep, I like Ike.....and I believe that all presidents should take up golf, and get at least 18 holes in a day....that should eliminate a lot of crap coming from D.C........
