Deacon was born Wednesday, the 24th, at 8:50 PM. 8lbs 6oz, 21 inches long. Everything went pretty well and we're finally home getting some Z's without a nurse, nurse's aid, lactation specialist, doctor, house keeping, or any of the others who knocked every fifteen minutes. But really, great care at MaGee. Everyone was so wonderful. _________________

Great news, Dick. There's really nothing else in a man's life that compares with having a son (my apologies to the womenfolk). My only advice to you is this: When the baby sleeps, you catch a nap, too. It's about the only way you get any rest for the first couple of months. And your mention of "lactation specialist" has got me thinking about a career move. _________________

Yeah, I went out for dinner right after work, then came home and had a long, long nap. So now I'm wide awake. Maybe this will allow me to break my streak of waking up at 5 or 5:30 in the a.m. Doesn't matter. The weekend is here. 48 hours of napping, cooking and drinking wine. _________________
