Not "system restore" Cy, "system recovery", restore takes it back to a date you knew the pc was fine, System Recovery wipes everything out unless the hard drive has an installation point that cannot be erased. (my pc with the XP did as I had to crash it twice and reload it from the hard drive following the directions on the monitor). Then it will install all of what came with the pc. Otherwise you will need an installation disk which should have come with the pc.
But the fact he was able to use Mozzilla confusses me, Free, can you show the desktop? |

As far as I know, there is no hotkey for that function either. _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Join the forums at bogsource.com now! |

Yeah, that only works during bootup. Like right at the start screen. And that's only for HP. What I mean is, while the computer is up and running, there are no hotkeys for system restores or recoveries that I know of. That would be a major design flaw if there were. _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Join the forums at bogsource.com now! |

I should have said HP, cy, couldn't think of it then, but you need to whack that F-10 the second it pops up cause it don't stay there long. |

Guys, it did take several hours for everything to come back on...One other strange thing -- the clock time down in the bottom right hand corner is behind now, by one hour...(cue the Twilight Zone music ) But still no papers, pictures or freaking resume....And I need it tomorrow...
------
Reminds me of when my mother and sister came to visit, and while graciously cleaning this disgusting bachelor pad, they threw out three hundred dollars worth of papers...
-------
Hey, you just gotta laugh out loud....
or cry alone
-------
Doing a new resume now. Good thing I'm a creative writer..(winking face)
Thanks again. _________________ where-ever you get it - there you have it. - Anon. |

Sorry, Bus... I don't know how to "show the desktop" The little icons say recycle bin, internet explorer, 60 day trial office 2003, AOL, AOL for broadband, Documentation, easy internet sign-up, and then a bunch of repetitive HP stuff....Another funny thing -- the iTunes icon is there, but there's no music stored, just a request to sign up to iTunes....
Wow....all my carefully selected music, from Brandenburg Concerto to Ian Drury...all lost in an instant...THAT HURTS...
Ahhh well,
It's forty below, but I don't give a ****, got a heater in my truck, and I'm off to the Rodeo _________________ where-ever you get it - there you have it. - Anon. |

Thanks, sweetheart...But an ugly uneducated gray beard, who is facing off against 3000 shiny young happy sweet pretty quick competitors, and all he is carrying is a home-made poem, a hand printed resume, and a long history of conflict with authority, doesn't need good luck....
I need a freakin' miracle

I'm a big fan of the "Rodeo Song," Free. My dad's best friend owned a bar/restaurant in the north woods of Pa., and he had it on the jukebox. But we were only allowed to play it after most of the clientele had departed for the night. _________________

Yeah Brant, that song always picks me up -- (though I don't share it with the kids ) Another one is "I get knocked down, but I get up again - you're never gonna keep me down...Pizzin' the night away..."
( And, now, it too is lost...but the memory remains...)
Bus, when I click on Internet Explorer, a web page for AOL appears...Underneath the address thing where the http: stuff is, is a box for Google, that's where I typed in Mozilla Firefox, and followed the instructions to install it....But now the printer won't work...
If God doesn't want me to get this job, that's fine....I can still flip burgers and carry shingles up a ladder...
And find it all funny _________________ where-ever you get it - there you have it. - Anon. |
