2010 Winter Olympic Opening Ceremonies are Friday. That kinda snuck up on me. Soooo, who do you guys like to win the luge?

I don't even know who's competing in the luge. I will watch hockey and snowboarding probably. I expect Canada wins hockey.

Yeah, the luge part was sarcastic. There are so many winter events that are really lame in concept. But because its the Olympics, I'll watch any competition at the highest level possible... including the luge... lol. Those guys are nuts. Same with the ski and snowboard jumping.
Assuming the USA can't win gold in hockey, I'm pulling for Crosby and the Canadians. That would be a hell of a gold medal game if they faced Russia. But watch out for Sweden who won gold last Olympics.

I didn't give a flying eff about curling 6 months ago, and I don't give a flying eff about it now. And damnit, Sydney Crosby is a PENGUIN and Alex Ovetchkin has no business sharing a uniform with Sergei Gonchar. I'm not going to change my loyalty paradigm for some hogchit exhibition. And, the chit's on ALL THE TIME... it's not like you can get invested in an event or follow someone's performance straight through... someone skis down a hill, then it's curling, then it's 4 minutes of a hockey game, then it's someone peeing their cyrillic name in the snow... then someone wins the jumping skiing thing on a jump that looks EXACTLY like EVERY OTHER SKI JUMP I'VE EVER SEEN... but they didn't win a medal yet because it was only the octofinals or something... When someone wins something, i want to see them get a medal right there...
Ooooh, look! It's croatia vs finland in indoor driveway shoveling! Let's see who's got the most heart and soul!
Eff the olympics. Let me know when real hockey is back on and the players I like are all back on the same team.
Ef canada AND finland.
Ooooh, look... an iceskater that will be famous for 6 days and then I'll never hear of him again... good job.

Hahaha... everything e just wrote, I feel the exact opposite. The only events that I don't like are the ones with judges. Like the figure skating or the snowboard ramp. Give me a stop watch and a finish line or some parameters of rules.
Yeah, I like curling... for a two weeks.

I kind of like curling too. I like to watch sports that I could play. You know, I'm never going to be a hockey star or a star safety for an NFL team, but I can slide a rock across the ice and then shake a broom really fast. Seriously, I could win a gold medal in curling. That's why I like it.

So I gotta say I watched Short Track speed skating over the weekend and enjoyed the hell out of it. Maybe its something about watching guys wipe out on the ice and fly into walls at 30 mph.
