I missed all of the speed skating. I caught some ski moguls where they mix in jumps. This french guy had the best time down the hill, but since he didn't grab his skis during a flip, the judges bumped him all the way down to 6th. Really, the skateboarding moves over the jumps makes it somewhat entertaining. I just prefer a sport where the clock is all that counts and judges aren't involved whatsoever. The Canadian won gold.

I enjoyed the short track races-lots of action and crack ups.

Yeah, Korea was about to sweep but two of them knocked each other out in the final turn! You know they're going to be thinking about that for the next 4 years. I liked watching Ohno tie the record for US winter olypmic medals and the Celski kid getting a Bronze after almost losing his leg just last year. Technically they should have been 4-5 but wipeouts are part of the sport.

@ dick, I agree. Was watching the figure skating a little last night. I don't like to watch it really because I find spinning and getting thrown across the ice to be incredibly nerve-racking, but it was all that was on. Anyway, the judges were giving the most wacky scores. Really hard to get into a sport that is graded so subjectively.

I'm pretty sure we're playing Switzerland right now. Canada vs. Norway is scheduled to start at 4:30. I don't know the schedule after that, but USA vs Canada is Sunday.

I'm kinda pulling for Canada, actually. My prediction is Canada Gold, Russia Silver, US Bronze.

I was gonna pick Russia, but after reading about the change to the NHL size ice surface instead of the big International ice, I'm also going with Canada. They're huge and built for this kind of game. Joe Thorton, Rick Nash, Eric Staal, Heatley, Marleau, Iginla, Getzlav... they're all big powerforwards. Every line can crash the net without running too much of a risk of the other team getting on the open ice.

Ryan Malone scores! 3-0 USA!

Eric Staal is my favorite player so I'd like to see him win gold. I don't really have any fan attachment to any of the players on the other teams.

I'm pulling for the United States. But I'd like to see all the Penguins do good as far as being points leaders. And with the games being in Canada and all, it'd be incredible to watch Crosby being credited with leading them to gold.
