One is manageable. Having two kids in diapers at one time would be overload for me. My two kids are five years apart, and that worked well for me. In general, I don't care much for small children.

I sort of figure if you're going to go through that stage, have two close together, dive in feet first, then call it quits. That way they both go off to college at relatively the same time and you have some good healthy years to yourself again before you're too old to do stuff. I'd be sad if I was at the point where I couldn't get around much before the last kid was out the door.

I also advocate having them when you're young. I think it borders on child abuse when somebody like Tony Randall fathers a kid when he's 80 and then shuffles off a few years later.

I don't see the use of having more than one... Unless you screw up the first one...

Ours is a good kid (so far)... he eats, sleeps and plays... he does things that amuse us. He's exceedingly healthy...

I am convinced if we have another one, it will be a demon spawn that will make us forever regret the decision.

Or, it will be a girl (shudder)

I plan on having two so that they can keep eachother busy. Hopefully soon, so that, like was said above, I can have some good years to enjoy retirement. I couldn't imagine not have my brother.

The Duggars creep me out. They're just weird! I'm an only child & I always wanted a brother...I never wanted a sister for some reason! I definitely want two kids! Being an only child is not fun! I was an only child too. Always wanted a sister, and now I have 2 in-laws. The younger one is almost two decades behind my wife so she was a brand new baby when we started dating. I basically consider her my blood related sister since I've known her her whole life.

Yeah, I have a step sister, but we rarely saw each other; she is my step-dad's daughter from his previous marriage. We rarely visited with my mom and step-dad at the same time so we never had the opportunity to get close, and we share very little in the way of common interests.
