....took Wall-Crawler to see it last night, and we both enjoyed it...And as she's on the verge of losing tooth # 2, it was all quite appropriate...
Lots of good laughs, and the big dark guy (forget his name) is no Robert DeNiro, but he is very likable, and pulls off the impossible with panache....The reason I put this here, instead of "Entertainment", is because the movie is a very apt analogy of the argument we've been having here....

Yes, there will be a dollar under her pillow....

(and she'll spend it on candy...ain't it ironic...?)

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, the star of the movie, is a very likeable fellow. And as long as the movie is at least moderately entertaining, who cares if it isn't "Citizen Kane"?

I got a D in cultural arts 'cause I wrote a paper saying "Jeremiah Johnson" told the same story in a better way than "Citizen Kane."

20 years later, i still feel my Grizz..... can eat your Rosebud

The Rock is so HOT! I love him in the movie Be Cool...He's hilarious in it!

Too bad he's a REPUBLICAN! Wink

I saw "The Invention of Lying" last night. It was interesting! Not a great movie, but I really liked the idea.

Here's a synopsis:

Quote:
Mark Bellison (Ricky Gervais) lives in a world just like our own, but no one lies there. Everyone is completely honest all the time. The first half of the movie shows Mark's sad life a struggling loser, and how he is insulted by his completely honest coworkers, his Mom, and Anna (Jennifer Garner), his date. His Mom gets sick, and he makes up a story about an afterlife to help comfort his Mom on her deathbed. Doctors and nurses overhear him, and soon Mark becomes an international authority on the afterlife. People camp on his lawn to learn more. Mark develops a story about the "Man in the Sky," who functions like God, and he pastes his theology on two pizza boxes like Moses and the ten commandments. Mark learns to lie to help his friends, get money at the bank, cheat at the casino, and eventually to win the affection of Anna.

Sounds pretty good, and Ricky Gervais is always entertaining.

Why is this in the Religion forum? The Rock is a really funny guy and actually a pretty good actor. Watch Southland Tales. Weird movie, but he's great in it.

My apologies, Cy...But I did not put "Tooth Fairy" here, without a reason.
If you doubt the existence of the tooth fairy, then you must explain how money appears under the pillow

I believe in the Tooth Fairy because of the proof that money appears under my pillow. If Jesus or the Holy Spirit would do something tangible to prove themselves, I would also become a believer.

Yeah, if I go home today and find my couch covered with stacks of fifties, I'm willing to believe. Show me the money!

Am I the only one reading this as suggesting Brant has thousands of human teeth hidden in the cushions of his couch?

You all are not reading between the lines...
The Tooth Fairy is a "Concept"

Proof of existence ...? --- a dollar under every pillow...

The joy in their eyes, and the sparkle in their big gappy smile,
makes it all worthwhile....

That's why this is in Religion

That's what I thought...That's also why I thought of the movie "The Invention of Lying"...
