I guess it remains to be seen what will happen. I would go to the Rivers before I would go to Meadows though. I prefer to avoid Washington County whenever possible. And I like being in Pittsburgh. Its a great city. _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Join the forums at bogsource.com now! |

Istanbul? and not Constantinople?

Lol. I can neither confirm nor deny such suspicions. Please stare at this red light for 5 seconds. _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Join the forums at bogsource.com now! |

Cy, I completely agree. Those people are very fragile, but there are so many out there. I've lived on the North Side of Pittsburgh, and in Brooklyn. I loved living in NYC because the trains will get you close to anywhere you want to go.
E, between winter and construction, Pittsburgh can be a btch year round.
Brant, living in Washpaw or Greene, I would definitely think you would choose the Meadows. I live toward Greensburg and was actually thinking of the hicks out here. Once you're at New Stanton, its about equal distance (turnpike to PGH or I-70 twd Washpaw). _________________

I hate traveling thru Pittsburgh, let alone going into the city for any reason. Parking sucks and the rates are ridiculous. If you have a medical emergency during rush hour and med-evac isn't taking you, you may be SOL!
I can see the museums being downtown, but the casino, hospitals and colleges would be far better off to relocate as would the zoo and aviary to somewhere that they could grow to their full potential. _________________

They won't relocate. What really needs to happen is Pittsburgh needs a legit subway, not the crappy T. Put that in, and all problems are solved. When the T station on the north side opens, that will be huge right there. _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Join the forums at bogsource.com now! |

Cy, why is it that you try to avoid Washington County. I've lived here most of my life, and it's a lovely place, outside of the county seat. _________________

Its boring. Everytime I think about going out to do something fun, its either into town or to Robinson. The farthest south I go is the increasingly rare trip to Sharp Edge. _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Join the forums at bogsource.com now! |

I guess "prefer to avoid" was misleading verbiage. I should have said, "never have any reason to go to." _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Join the forums at bogsource.com now! |

Gotcha. If there's a musical act I want to see, I have no problem going down and fighting the crowds on the South Side. But if I have two equal opportunities, and one of them doesn't involve going into the city, I'm going to take the non-city one. _________________

Yeah, I'm a city person. If I have the same opportunity, I'll take the city route over the rural route, traffic be damned. Different strokes etc. _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Join the forums at bogsource.com now! |

That's the truth. I'm a rural guy, always have been. Living in Pittsburgh would be like the seventh circle of Hell for me. (I think it's my general hatred of my fellow man) But for those who like city living, more power to them. _________________
