Yeah, because they don't read the letter at all when it says "ellipses" on it. They just print it and ship it out.

I don't see how it would backfire. They wouldn't print anything that had inappropriate content and e isn't the type to file lawsuits because someone impersonated him. And this is all hypothetical anyway; pretty sure Brant wasn't being serious and that e just slipped through the cracks that one time on the call-back.

When I write a letter, it has my real name, address and phone number on it... Also, I probably shoot someone an email saying "hey, I wrote a letter and sent it in"...
I doubt someone would try to figure out my cell phone number AND my address, write a letter that matches my rhetorical style, and then create a false email address from which to email brant or moe to confirm that "I" wrote it... just to get a letter to the editor in the newspaper under someone else's name... That's a lot of work for no real discernable benefit that I can see.
Just sayin...
