Damn, buscrasher! I'll be over in ten minutes!
Actually, I had a very blessed New Years Day. Picked from a steam pot that was full of kielbasa, pork, potatoes, and sauerkraut.

You know, Bus, that was almost what our dinner looked like! Plus, add stuffed clam and scallop shells. Everyone else said the seafood was good, but I don't eat stuff coming from water! Yuk! My landlocked BBQ porkchops were great! Ymm. _________________ -amom

Funny you mention that "stuff' from water, I will NOT eat crab, oysters, clam etc. I will eat fish from the north like salmon, wall-eye, perch and unpeeled shrimp if it doesn't smell bait.
What are landlocked chops?
I was asking around and nearly everyone I talked to said pork does not seem to taste as good as it once did. i know a farmer who raises his own pigs and sell cuts of chops etc. i am going to make a point to get up there soon and get some sausage and center cut chops, and see if there is a difference.
I am afraid this pork we get now may be from offshore and they don't have a Dept' of Agriculture or a FDA. or they are fast fooding the hogs to get them out sooner. tastes very bland unless you pour a ton of salt over it, then it is salty bland. |

I just meant "landlocked" chops as in not from water. And I put so much BBQ sauce on the chops, I wouldn't be able to tell you if they tasted different than they did when I was younger. But you are probably right about their coming in from elsewhere. _________________ -amom
