Check craigslist (http://pittsburgh.craigslist.org/app/1512940683.html, get one cheap, then make your landlord pay for it after the fact. Or just deduct it from the next rent. I'm a landlord and I'd be OK with that. We got a newer gas range for my mum recently for only $50! The couple was "updating" their kitchen and it didn't match. _________________ -amom

Mine, too...
People act as if we ride carriages to work when I say we don't have a dishwasher... I don't find it to be that big of a deal...
Plus, I can use that "chore" as a bargaining chip with the wife _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Join the forums at bogsource.com now! |

Dick, I once started an epic bar fight in Clarion at a place I believe was called the Red Stallion. I'm hoping the cops don't get called to my sister's place. _________________

Bingo. This is how I manage to play Assassin's Creed II for several hours at a time on the weekends.

I was personally unscathed, but one of my Hawaiian shirts was a bit worse for wear. _________________

I'm not familiar with the Red Stallion. It sounds like a place that sees many a-fights. Watch out though. With the students out of town, the cops won't have anyone to pick on. They'll get a hard on if they know you're not a townie. _________________

Cy, a suggestion that worked once for me --- Buy 3 crockpots at the Dollar Store, or if you can afford it, a large roaster from sears...Fill it (or them) halfway with a half & half mixture of chicken broth & water..Get thawed turkey drumsticks and breasts, celery and carrots and potatoes, instant gravy and instant stuffing...Figure 10 ounces of turkey for each guest...cut everything into pieces and drop it all in and let simmer on low for 10 0r 12 hours....when it starts to smell good, or a meat thermometer shows 180 degrees, separate everything -- mash the potatoes adding butter and sour cream and parmesan cheese, use the hot broth to do the stuffing and gravy, add the celery to the stuffing....Prep time is a half hour at the front and half at the back..Cost is about a buck fifty per person...And remember, it's not the meal...it's the memories....The tryptophan will knock them out anyway..

Oh forgot to mention...if you have a microwave...heat the broth up as hot as you can before using it...And for dessert, you know those little debbie snack cakes shaped like a taco and come in cherry, apple and peach flavors..? Smash 'em up in individual bowls, cover with a wet paper towel and nuke for a minute twenty...top with vanilla ice cream and serve while it's still steaming..If you don't have enough bowls, paper plates will work as well...Hide the used wrappers and try not to laugh when they compliment your cooking _________________ where-ever you get it - there you have it. - Anon. |

Another thing Cy, saw the roasters on sale at Wal-Mart for 30 bucks, also while you are there, get one of those portable electric cooking hot plates, they come with one or two plates. Not very expensive, but you will have 2 items that will come in handy many, many times.
Also about the gravy for the potatos and turkey, if you use the microwave, get a big can of Campbells Cream of Chicken soup, add water per instructions and toss in a few Chicken flavored boulion? cubes or a few teaspoons of the powder type
Tell everyone you made that from scratch like you did free's Little Debbie treat. |

Heck, with all these suggestions, why oh why am I slaving over a hot stove with homemade periogies and sauerkraut mushroom soup? _________________ -amom
