I knowingly eat one item from the list (canned tomato paste) and maybe the potatoes, although mine always seem to sprout in the fruit cellar. Otherwise, I'm safe. Whew!

If I tried to weed out all the things that potentially could be bad for me, it would be a full-time job. I'm not going to confine my diet to organic roots. I eat what I please, and if something "gets" me, so be it.

I use non-organic potatoes and occasionally canned tomatoes (paste, crushed, diced)... but aside from that, nope.

I probably eat non-organic potatoes every now and then, but not on any type of regular basis.

BTW, PO - TAY - TOES:

Basically, I agree with Brant's take on food... but since I am making a real, concerted effort to eat healthy, simple food*... I default to a lot of organics as a matter of course.

*Simple food being constructed of purposeful ingredients, of which I am fully aware of their purpose for being in the dish. The actual meal may be complex and made with many ingredients, but each one is something that I put in there on purpose... I try to not consume too many things that contain ingredients that, however harmless, are invented substances for the purpose of preserving or artificially enhancing food.

3. Microwave Popcorn

The expert: Olga Naidenko, PhD, a senior scientist for the Environmental Working Group,

The problem: Chemicals, including perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA), in the lining of the bag, are part of a class of compounds that may be linked to infertility in humans, according to a recent study from UCLA. In animal testing, the chemicals cause liver, testicular, and pancreatic cancer. Studies show that microwaving causes the chemicals to vaporize—and migrate into your popcorn. "They stay in your body for years and accumulate there," says Naidenko, which is why researchers worry that levels in humans could approach the amounts causing cancers in laboratory animals. DuPont and other manufacturers have promised to phase out PFOA by 2015 under a voluntary EPA plan, but millions of bags of popcorn will be sold between now and then.

This is what the hell I told you to put in the microvave when fish guy nukes his fish. Look at the ways you can nail him? Laughing Laughing Laughing

EAT WHAT YOU LIKE, WE ARE ALL GOING TO FRIGGIN DIE . Don't make a lot of difference unless you are loading and over loading on fast food garbage. Clogs your veins , liver, small blood vessals , etc up, then you need something from below.

Ever notice the various drug commercials on tv and hear the warnings or read the warnings? Most of them will kill someone , so you never know when you will be the one rolling snake eyes on any given day.

Most of the time if you eat bad food, Mother Nature steps right in and makes it come out of you the very way it went in almost immediatly.

If she doesn't, you probably aren't going to die this time, besides, almost all the cookies, etc. you buy Shocked are really a bunch of chemicals enhanced with yet more chemicals to be enhanced with more chemicals to aquire the smell and taste of what you think you are eating
to make you think you are eating what you think you are eating.

But there is significant evidence that eating like that will shorten your lifespan by several years and make those last several years much more unpleasant.

A point I like to make- If you have the desire, time, and expertise to cook with real stuff, why not?

I really enjoy cooking... That alone is enough reason to natural and organic ingredients...

If you aren't a big fan of slaving over a hot stove... more power to you... Smile
