I worked for Roadway, Bekins, UPS (oops !) Global, and the USPS...
I will now ONLY ship things through the United States Postal System..
(even if it is a danged socialist institution)

Or... was it like my mom... phone one day (usually a voice mail since I don't answer) and then a novel of text messages the next day?

So I sent my dad an xmas present as well around the time this whole FedEx fiasco was going on. It was USPS, plain old mail, right to his door and whatnot, and he returned to sender just to be a prick.

Yeah, well, he did it to himself. I'm pretty tired of the whole process. Create a situation where he knows I won't be able to do what he wants, then claim that I'm doing it only to be cruel to him, then claim it is because there is something wrong with me. Well, it takes two to tango, and I don't dance.

My nine years there has proven to be anything but. More like a freaking serf. But--, like most all working places; it takes, and you have, all kinds of people to make up a work force.
I think I may have a problem with my present mail man; he may be of the "going postal", variety.
My grandson lives in an apartment and ordered a work related book to be mailed to him. When it never came, he called about it and was told it was sent a while back. He called the Post Office and was told it was placed in front of his apt. door. Well, someone must have taken it.
He asked if he could have any other packages he might order sent to my address and I said sure. We have those sidewalk "mail stands" here like condos have.
The other day the mailman rang my doorbell and sid he had a parcel with my address but not my name on it and if it was mine. ( I told him about the grandson and that he may be getting packages here before this)
I told him yes it was right and reminded him of our talk about the grandson getting a parcel here every now and then.
He let out a remark saying he delivers by names, not addresses, and did not know that name, implying he was not going to deliver the parcel.
I took the parcel off of him and reminded him that the USPS delivers to addresses because they don't have Zip Codes for names.
He had that "glazed" look in his eyes. |

It's sad when your parents act more immature than you. My mom wouldn't talk to me for months at a time. Sometimes I didn't even know why she was angry. Towards the end, when she was really sick, she told me that she regretted all the time we wasted bc of silly things...
