Wait, what? Yeah, I saw it too...what the hell is going on here? Someone has been tampering with the space time continuum.

It's Phony, I just know it...!!! He's managed to channel zero point gravity inside the casimir effect, and tunnel stupidity outside the boundaries of ordinary matter, reducing everything we think we know into a particle soup of steaming ignorance....

amom, you sweetheart... thank you so much for that...And while my sanity may remain questionable, your soothing voice and gentle demeanor, always seem to help pull me through....

i'm mostly leery of two things when it comes to others' beliefs (or non-beliefs):
1) When they're waaayyyy too certain that what they choose to believe (or don't believe) is the one & only truth, and
2) when they're intolerant of dissenting but otherwise reasonably arguable views.

i've encountered people like that among Christians (or other theists) as well as among atheists (or other non-theists.) Imo, those folks do a disservice to whatever theological or non-theological movement for which they advocate.

And yet they don't seem to realize that by being so strident and unyielding, they are driving people away from the beliefs they profess.

...cool....it's quiet now, all the dust has settled...and I can write in a place where nothing will ever be seen or argued about...no conflict, just me and my god and my artwork......
a little background for anyone still reading about a virgin mary pancake.....(please don't comment...)
------
(( hate sharing personal dump, but believe the info is relevant,))
---------
Was forced to memorize the Bible, by a figure who should have been a father...Escaping him, and entering college, quickly learned there was no need for god..Adam and Eve and the Ark and fires of hell were just fairy tales, invented to keep me in line....Read Skeptical Inquirer magazine, and had the Humanist Manifesto framed on my wall...(it's still there) Guessed that, in time, science would eventually explain everything...Then came a daughter, and she got sick, forcing me to pray...on my knees, like a fool, with a rolling thunder in my stomach...please understand, I could not pray to a concept or a piece of paper or Lao Tzu quotes,
or Zen philosophy...I needed the help of a man...and remembering the words I had read from years before, I chose Jesus, the same way you would choose a political party....I guess at that time, I needed a father figure, one I could respect, and one who loved me...and right there beside her bed, I made a solemn oath to defend Jesus and fools, as long as she lived...
-------
The daughter is currently safe happy and healthy, and so my obligation remains...
Again, not trying to convert, just trying to explain true devotion... and, I think Jesus jokes are funny...here's my favorite -- "why doesn't Jesus like M & M's....? 'cause they fall through the holes in his hands..."
--------
You see, my faith is not a weapon, and I believe in a soul that science cannot measure...and I can't explain why my daughter was saved, when ten thousand other daughters were allowed to die that day...I still don't understand it...probably never will...
---------
One hundred thousand years of human history...Forty thousand years of recorded history...Over a thousand cultures living and dead..
Cave art, burials, stone monuments...and not one culture has ever been found, that did not have a god...
----------
Seems evolution designed us to respond to a call for the spiritual...
and sometimes, a father just needs the help of a bigger and better Father...
-------
Doubt anyone will ever read this...but if you do, sleep well, and know that you are loved....Peace to all
