Already saw them in Vanilla Sky. They weren't as big as Tom Cruise's head, but they were taller than him. _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Join the forums at bogsource.com now! |

I thought it was really weird that my mother inlaw was going with her friends to see Twilight at midnight... either tonight or last night. I suppose its not that strange if other adults are going to see it. |
I think Penelope likes showing her cans...She's showed them in several movies already.
Yeah...My friends are in their mid-20's to early 30's and they really wanna go see Twilight. _________________ "If by a 'Liberal' they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares about the welfare of the people — their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights and their civil liberties ... if that is what they mean by a 'Liberal,' then I’m proud to say I’m a 'Liberal.'" ~ Senator John F. So, thankfully, there weren't screaming girls at the theater when I went to see "New Moon". But every time Jacob, the werewolf, was shirtless on screen, which was pretty much half of the time, all the women (yes, grown women), in the audience started screaming. It was kinda creepy since the kid that plays Jacob is only 16 or 17 yrs old. The movie had its moments, but for the most part, it was so melodramatic! SPOILER ALERT - don't read if you care about Twilight.
My 60 year old mother inlaw went to the midnight screening of New Moon Thursday night. Then went with her daughters again last night. After the movie, both nights, she loudly announced to everyone that you find out in the next book that the warewolves are actually shapeshifters. My wife said people were so pizzed off at her. I think its hilarious. _________________

I didn't see the movie, and don't really care to, but in the trailer I saw the transformation from person to werewolf looked a lot like the shapeshifters in the Harry Potter movies. _________________ -amom

I read that somewhere too, Dick! OMFG no! No! I can't believe you spoiled this! I won't believe it!
Wait, they're shapeshifters? Um...so? I mean, haven't we always known that they are basically shapeshifters? Really, what else do you call a werewolf that changes without needing to wait for the moon? Seriously? This is why I will never read these books or watch these movies; the fans are morons.
BTW, read the synopses of all 4 books on wikipedia months ago. The saga is dumb. _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Join the forums at bogsource.com now! |

Ok... The part I found funny was that my mom inlaw was being a "loud talker". As if she was all proud that she read the books and deep down wanted to let everybody know. And there were all kinds of people who were genuinely upset.
I wasn't making fun of the warewolves actually being shapeshifters. _________________

No Cylinser, warewolves aren't basically shapeshifters. Not at all. _________________

Why, because shapeshifters turn into other animals? Big whoop. The werewolves in twilight already changed without the need of the full moon. To me, that's a shapeshifter. _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Join the forums at bogsource.com now! |

This is retarded. My brain is comparing Michael J. Fox in Teen Wolf to Nightcrawler in X-Men.
For arguements sake, ok, they're the same effin thing. _________________

Let's just say this is the one time I was proud not to have read the book before watching the movie...One of my friends was telling me that the books are even more melodramatic, if that's possible! I thought Nightcrawler was a teleporter, not a shapeshifter? Mystique was a shapeshifter though.
I guess what I'm saying is that, in the most basic sense of the word, a person that can take on the physical form of another creature, whether a different looking person or some form of animal, is a shapeshifter in my book. I would classify a werewolf as a subset of that type of mythical creature in that it traditionally does not control its transformation and is at the mercy of the full moon. If you wanted to split hairs, you could classify it as a separate entity on the basis of it not having control over its transformation (making "control" an integral part of being a shapeshifter). I would buy that, and therefore agree with you that traditional werewovles are not necessarily shapeshifters.
But the werewolves in twilight were never traditional to begin with, and that was my point.
The werewolves in twilight control their change. To me, that's a shapeshifter. I don't see why calling them that in the third book is any kind of revelation; they were never really traditional werewolves to start, so why is that a gasp-worthy moment? _________________ The end is nigh!
