4s is the taser supposed to be applied directly to the body? there was a just a NATIONWIDE warning by the maker not to do this because it causes the heart to stop,..BB

Nobody's career is going to be over. That's just stupid. And let's wait until all the facts are in. Toxicology tests might reveal that the guy had some substances in his system that contributed to his death. The officers did what they needed to do to subdue a person who was out of control and attacking them. If they had thrased the guy into submission with nightsticks, you'd be bitching about that. You hate the police. We get it. But I'm sure somebody will be filing a lawsuit, because in this country these days, it seems there are plenty of people who think the police are always wrong. And that's sad. And shameful.

The most absurd and disturbing part of this current development is that if these guys were mis-using the taser in the past, for them to be brought down while using it when it was actually warranted....would be a sardonic plot worthy of Mamet...I pray that real justice will be done

im well aware of where the FIRST TASER WAS APPLIED AND IM NOT TALKING OF THAT OFFICER.IM TALKING OF THE DIRECT ONE APPLIED BY THE SECOND OFFICER TO THE TORSO .......THAT HAS BEEN TOLD TO ALL POLICE NATIONWIDE BY THE MAKER OF THE TASER NOT TO DO IT, FOR IT HAS CAUSED DEATH,AND HAS CAUSED THE HEART TO STOP I LOVE HOW SOME OF YOU KEEP AVOIDING THAT POINT,AND FREETHINKER JUST BECAUSE ONE HAS A RECORD DOES NOT MAKE IT WORTH A KILLING,HE WAS SUPPOSE TO HAVE BITTEN THE OFFICER SEVERAL TIMES...BUT THERE IS NO REPORT OF THE OFFICER BEING TREATED AT THE SCENE OR AT THE HOSPITAL.BB

According to the media BB yes there was. Just like spray paint says NOT TO BE INHALED. The Taser company is trying to avoid themselves being sued-they do not set police department policy.
Now-a question for you BB-if the officers had dealt with this guy before and knew he was HIV positive, would deadly force be justified if he was biting them?
And I know how we have to repeat things for you-just because there was no mention in the article about whether or not the officer was treated does not mean he wasn't treated.

THAMKS FOR ANSWERING THE QUESTION THAT THE POLICE WERE WARNED TO STOP APPLYING THE TASER DIRECTLY TO THE BODY..AND YES IF THE POLICE KNEW SOMEONE WAS HIV AND THE OFFICER WAS BEING BITTEN YES HE COULD USE DEADLY FORCE IF HE CHOSE TOO.WITH ALL THE WITNESSES ON JEFFERSON AVE I STILL QUESTION WHY IF THE OFFICER WAS BITTEN SEVERAL TIMES ACCORDING TO THE POLICE REPORT WHY HE WAS NOT TREATED AT THE SCENE HUMAN BITES ARE VERY DANGEROUS BUT YET NO ONE SAW THE OFFICER GET TREATED BY THE PARAMEDICS AND IT IS WAY TO DANGEROUS TO WAIT AS YOUR CLAIMING.BB
