Bus, that Murtland intersection is definitely the worst in Washington. Since I live west of town, I cut across past the fairgrounds and come in the back way when I go to THE Giant Eagle or the liquor store. Yeah, the Mothman movie wasn't all that great. Kinda creepy, though. _________________

Is Giant Eagle still in there? I was there yesterday and waited with hardly any traffic, for the light to change a good 2-3 minutes. In the 70's -80's, when that mall was alive, K-mart where Home Depot is, Shop 'Save to the right, Sudsy Sams beer Store and a few others over there. Then the Mall had Penny's where it just returned to, and various stores including a Giant Eagle where this DW? furniture store just opened.
On week-ends, you could be back to CC's Pizza waiting to get on R-19. |

Yeah, I remember when the K-mart came in. Then it burned. Then it reopened. Wasn't there an A&P or a Thorofare store in that plaza? There was also that good Chinese restaurant. The Giant Eagle is now up in that Strabane Square plaza with Target and Lowe's. _________________

It was a Shop n Save to the right of K-Mart along with a car parts store, Sudsy Sam's Beer Store and a few more I can't remember on the right , on the left was the Mall that still is there but mostly empty. |

At one point, there was a different grocer in that location - before the Shop 'n Save, I suspect. Maybe one of the other old-timers will remember. _________________
