I don't buy or drink beer for me personally. When I do buy beer, it's for a party and two six-packs won't do it. Besides, I have at least two beer distributors and ten bars within a few minutes of my house, where the Eagle is 30 minutes away. Rolling Eyes

So Giant Eagle selling beer won't matter to me either way.

Yes, I'm certain that I will, although not as often as I'd like because neither of those stores is very close to me (the other is in Robinson). However, it sounds like the selection will be good and I do go to Robinson fairly often, so I'll be there. It will partly depend on price per beer, though. I'm guessing a 6 pack is going to be like 6 or 7 bucks, so about a dollar a beer, of something that you can get a case of for 18 or 20 bucks, or around 80 cents a beer. If that's the, uh, case, I'll probably still go to the distros for most of my beer. I'll save my six pack buying for the more expensive stuff.

I'm glad I read Cy's post. If they're only selling 6ers and 12 packs, then I doubt I'll be purchasing beer at Giant Eagle. I drink a lot of effin beer. So I buy by the case. You get that quantity discount.

Maybe before a concert or game, I could see stopping in and grabbing some ground meat, hot sausage, a few 12 packs, and some ice.

I live in Arizona where we can by beer, wine, and hard liquer. We can buy it at the grocery store as well as the corner store. We also have what you call distributers here, and they do very well. One reason they survive is competition. A case of beer at the distributer is much cheaper than the corner store. But the state can't regulate prices, so there are sales galore. As far as the state stores go, PA. has to get out of the business. I still consider Washington home, and they have a long way to ga on alcohol sales. By the way Arizona has some of the toughest DUI laws in the nation. Drink and drive and you WILL go to jail.
