Completely false analogies. At least in Moore's movies there are facts presented. You may not agree with his conclusions, or how he chooses to present them, but he lays out facts nonetheless.

Moore would not know a fact if it bit him in the cajones.

I wish that was the case, SSSS. Like I've said before, plenty of people down here in GA watch Beck & company and take their words to heart. It's pretty scary!

That's odd, because i've watched a few of his movies, and not willing to believe him, i spent time fact-checking him. Couldn't find one that was disprovable - most were completely spot on. imo, a few depended on point of view. Are you just assuming that what he says isn't true because you just don't like what he's said, or have you actually taken the time to fact-check him yourself?

Sicko was one of the most important movies of the last 50 years. People can't see past the man for the message.

I find Moore extremely annoying. But he does present evidence to support his claims and makes really good points...

The only thing of his I have seen was the first half hour of Farenheit 911. I was so disgusted I left and will never take time from my worst day to see anything else. And if you think there were any facts in that we are going to need more space here!

I agree that I cannot see past the man for the message. But the same could be said for Sean Hannity, right?

Wasn't there just recently some discussion in the forum about the ability/inability to support one's positions in debates?

i don't think this qualifies as supporting one's assertions:

I am not the one who claimed Moore used facts.

The difference is I spent lots of time listening to both Hannity and Limbaugh when I was younger. In fact, I used to listen to Limbaugh almost every day for close to two years. Even then, when I agreed with him politically, I used to think he was heavy handed.

Fahrenheit 9/11 was an extremely political movie. Its no surprise to me that a Bush supporter would not sit through even half of it or that they would feel offended by it. For the record, don't watch Bowling for Columbine either; it'll just piss you off more. Michael Moore is a major prick in the way he handles thing, but he does make valid points in his films, and one that everyone should watch is Sicko. Conservatives will probably still write him off in it, but its not a pro-liberal movie like his others, its a pro-American movie.

I have read enough about bowling for COlumbine that I feel I have seen it. He played pretty fast and loose with the facts there also from what I have read. But you are absolutely right-I will never pay to see anything that man does. He is lower than whale poop in my book.

I feel the same way about Hannity, Limbaugh, Savage, Beck, etc... To me they're actually a lot worse bc they incite the weak minded...America has a dark past that doesn't need to be awakened. That's what those neocons do!

Totally subjective opinion being offered here, but I know a lot of liberals who have watched Michael Moore films and do not like him or agree with a lot of what he says. I don't know any conservatives who listen to Limbaugh/Beck/Hannity/et al who ever offer disagreement to what they say. And I recognize that a lot of conservatives don't listen to them. Maybe this is a just a testament to intelligent conservatives having far less patience with their fringe pundits than intelligent liberals.
