Phony is right (don't say that often). I remember because the same day Obama flew home from meeting w/ the Olympic Committee was the same day the latest unemployment numbers came out. It moved up to 9.8%. Very close to the front page headline of 10% that opponents of Obama were wishing for.

Correction, phony was right about his first comment about unemployment.
Wrong about 50% being an F when the test in incomplete. He would receive an I for incomplete. I figured he'd know that seeing how obsessed he is with these libchit schools. _________________

Obama isn't half way through his test. He's less than a quarter way through. Even if every answer was wrong, (which its not), this kid can still get a C. _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Join the forums at bogsource.com now! |

Someone posted on another site that this is the second jobless economic recovery. Does anyone on here remember when the first one was? |
bus, Osama and his Osamites said so.....don't you believe them????[/quote]
I meant before this one, 1991, 1982-5, 1973. 1962. 1958 and of course the big one of 29 which will no doubt be surpassed by this one.
and isn't this recovery kind of like having your "clunker" souped up, where it shines like a new tin can, but has no engine, so you just push it to where you want to go?
also phony, it was not Obama that first proposed the 250 bucks for SS seniors, I am still trying to find/remember who it was. Seems like it was a Congresswoman. |

But it's very clear that Obama is staunchly behind the proposal:
WASHINGTON (AP) — There will be no cost-of-living increase for more than 50 million Social Security recipients next year, the first year without a raise since automatic adjustments were adopted in 1975.
Blame falling consumer prices. By law, cost-of-living adjustments are pegged to inflation, which is negative this year because of lower energy costs. Social Security payments, however, do not go down even when prices drop.
The Obama administration, meanwhile, is pursuing a different way to boost recipients’ income. On Wednesday, President Barack Obama called for a second round of $250 stimulus payments for seniors, veterans, retired railroad workers and people with disabilities. _________________

Just out of curiosity (and I don't have time to research)... but why do railroad workers get their own classification? _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Join the forums at bogsource.com now! |

I often wondered the same, since that's what my in-laws receive. Maybe one of our illustrious posters know. (My bet's on SSSS.) _________________ -amom

I think that railroad workers got Congress to pass a law exempting them from SOCIAL SECURITY, so they have their own retirement plan. _________________ Exposing the secular humanist liberal "progressives". |

Phony is right. RR workers do not pay into social security. They have their own retirement plan, the Railroad Retirement Board. _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Join the forums at bogsource.com now! |

Up until a certain point or can I get a job with a rail road today and get that?
That seems shortsighted and retarded... Who was behind that? I bet it was a libchit _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Join the forums at bogsource.com now! |
