ONDI,im sorry to hear you have no insurance,dont the state have like a welfare medical card for people who cant get coverage ?i know i am in the same situation they say i make too much,but cant afford coverage.BB

Well...What is being discussed is not a government takeover. Private insurers would still exist and whoever wants to buy private insurance can buy it. The "public option" would be just that another option for those of us that want it. It would not be a free ride. The public option would just be a more affordable option bc it would be a non-profit, government run, health insurance that people can choose to BUY with their own money!!! It would be the health insurance equivalent of public universities. Public universities are cheaper, but not free!
