Yeah, I remember in the 1930s, it got cold, but the HANDOUTS weren't there......gee, imagine that, a generation of Americans (real Americans) without government "HEAT CHECKS"... |
Everyone had a coal stove then buddy, and memaws knew how to make quilts. so, pick coal from the slate dump or chop down a tree.
PS: coal was less then 2 bucks a ton. |

So, bus, you're an old coal miner?
Yeah, I remember, picking coal at the slate dump....even though coal was only 2 bucks a ton, who had the two bucks?
Remember, bus, we come from the GREATEST GENERATION EVER....not like today's worthless, lazy, uneducated, ignorant, morally degenerate population.... _________________ Exposing the secular humanist liberal "progressives". |

Well...The younger generations are a reflection of you, just like children are a reflection of their parents...So how great was your generation if according to you, you did such a lousy job raising your children? _________________ "If by a 'Liberal' they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares about the welfare of the people — their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights and their civil liberties ... if that is what they mean by a 'Liberal,' then I’m proud to say I’m a 'Liberal.'" ~ Senator John F. The problem with the greatest generation is they were great for a window of time, but they've taken that to mean they are great forever. And I'm not saying they aren't. But they've let that go to their head and now they think that whatever there opinion is holds more merit than any other opinion. However, the opinion of a generation that will be all but dead in 20 years should not be allowed to decide how the world will be run long after they are gone. It is up to each generation to form their own world.
The greatest generation handed the keys to the car to their kids and they are handing them to us, but the greatest generation is still in the back seat trying to convince us that Maple to Rosebud is still faster than I-95, even though we're driving it and we know its not. At some point, the older generation has to learn to trust the younger generation. _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Join the forums at bogsource.com now! |

What I meant is that how can the greatest generation raise what's according to Phony a worthless, lazy, uneducated, ignorant, morally degenerate generation? Either the greatest generation wasn't so great and they did a lousy job raising their kids or the younger generations are not all that bad and Phony just can't deal with a changing world... Lot of truth there Cy, but no generation will ever be the alpha dog generation or should be.
Generations are but another move up in the chain of evolution (i.e. we dug coal with a pick and shovel, today a machine does it) and the success or failure of the next generation should not depend on the past generation, but the ability of the present generation to comprehend and act/re-act to progress.
"a lousy job of raising your kids"? If this is a shot at phony or his generation, whoa. How many of his kids are in an effin re-hab center, prison, drop-outs from most any thing you never taught them to do?
How many times were American cities bombed in WWll? When we were really protecting America and not pillaging some Mid-East country.
How many countries did America attack and later desert and leave the people to the mercy of its attackers, Viet Nam, and now very likely Afganistan? and probably Iraq.
This is on all of your generation , not phony's. |

I'm not saying generations shouldn't be responsible for their actions, just that older generations need to let the younger ones be responsible for their actions instead of trying to wrestle control away from them. _________________ The end is nigh!
