Name the top 10 "really proud" moments between that speech and 1982, when Michelle Obama turned 18...
What, exactly, are the shared moments of pride that we should all partake in? And is there something wrong with not sharing in that pride? |
Oh, I get it now, E....we share these proud moments only when they are LIBCHIT PROUD MOMENTS..... _________________ Exposing the secular humanist liberal "progressives". |

That was not the quote... you messed it up in a couple places |

Here it is, E....
The leader of the Cult of Change's wife had this to say yesterday at an appearance in Milwaukee yesterday:
For the first time in my adult life, I am really proud of my country, because it feels like hope is making a comeback.

I figured that's the quote you were talking about since that's one of your "talking points" that you have to bring up as irrelevant as it may be to the conversation, but you still got it wrong...
Here's what Michelle actually said:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Ne1j4HWw_k&feature=youtube_gdata
I don't see how it's anti-American...Her statement is just about anti-American as when you complain about the direction the country is going...
But regardless it's irrelevant...I've watched a whole series of specials about the slave ancestry of many different African American celebrities...Look it up on PBS...So why is it a problem to do a special about the First Lady's? Is it wrong bc in your opinion she's anti-American and you don't like her arms? That is one heck of an argument!!!! |
Ana, Ana, deny all you want, but those were her exact words, and your link contained the same speech, with the same words.....
People get tired of that "slave chit".....let's get on with the work of the country, and cut the "slave chit" out.[/quote]
Obviously not everyone's tired of the "slave chit" since there's a whole series. And how ignorant is that statement anyways...Should we just get rid of the History Channel too? Or maybe you just don't wanna talk about the "bad" parts of history? Some of us like and find history interesting. It has nothing to do with the work of the country. _________________ "If by a 'Liberal' they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares about the welfare of the people — their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights and their civil liberties ... if that is what they mean by a 'Liberal,' then I’m proud to say I’m a 'Liberal.'" ~ Senator John F. Yes, if we don't talk about it, then it doesn't exist!!! Now we're only allowed to talk about "reverse racism".
There are plenty other countries (pretty much all of Colonial Latin America) where they had slavery til about the same time the USA did and they don't have the race relation problems that we have. I'm not saying there's no racism in those countries, but it's mild & it has never been instutionalized like it was here. After slavery was abolished, the slaves just incorporated into society and that was that. But in the US, after abolition, there were the Jim Crow laws, lynchings, segregation...And that went on for another 80yrs after slavery was abolished...Many of the people that enforced Jim Crow and the ones that suffered through it are still alive...
But anyways, a TV special about slavery is just like any other program about history.... Phony must be really unpatriotic since he didn't jump to the chance of listing his proudest moments as an American!!! One of my proudest moments as an American was seeing my illegal dad being sworn in as a citizen.....
The other was being sworn into the armed forces.....
Others were V.E. and V.J. Days... _________________ Exposing the secular humanist liberal "progressives". |

And it would seem to me, Phony, that based on your family history, you would be in favor of amnesty for illegal aliens currently residing here. _________________

I'm in favor of whatever the law is.....remember, immigration arrested my dad in 1942, and fortunately we were at war with Italy, so he couldn't be deported...... _________________ Exposing the secular humanist liberal "progressives". |
