There's a difference between protecting a right and using that right to look like a tool. The constitution also says its legal to buy, own and consume alcohol. But each and every one of them has its limits and is open to interpretation. As for the First Amendment, your rights to free speech are absolute until you cause harm to another person. For instance, you can't scream "FIRE!" in a crowded theater. You can be charged with risking a catastrophe, or, if someone dies in a resulting melee, even more serious offenses.

I'm going to start my own group called the NDA: The National Drunkards Association. As the right to booze is constitutionally guaranteed, I will hold rallies at which all members will arrive, bring their bottles of alcohol, and get wasted before driving home. As far as I'm concerned, the government can have my schlitz malt liquor when they pry it from my cold, dead hands!
