My child is still in the womb, so its not really my call on whether my wife wants to get vaccinated or not. My opinion is that its healthy for children to build up antibodies against influenza viruses (note: I'm not a doctor).

I plan on asking my "kids" to be vaccinated, especially the college one. He is nearly neurotic in washing his hands, though, so that should help even without a shot. If I had littler kids, I'd go with what their pediatrician suggested. She's the one with the medical degree. Wink

ANOTHER DUMB QUESTION! you just ask if we would be getting the shot,i think it was pretty clear, why would i want my children to have it..a more important question is the latest shooting in washington where the victim refuses to cooperate,should he be locked up until he does.BB

If i had them, probably yes. There have been more deaths of otherwise healthy children from swine flu here in the past few days.

IT DOES NOT HAVE TO BE THAT WAY..... others could have been shot right by the hospital,law inforcement has a duty to protect.im sure the police know what avery jr is planning to do.he should be locked up for his own protection.but again our police might have to do their job,not a chance of that is there!! especially this department.BB

BB, I had to pull one of your earlier posts. We can't make allegations against someone of that nature if they do not lead to charges, and I found nothing in our archives to substantiate that. However, it is safe to say that the victim in yesterday's shooting was known to law enforcement before this incident. And many times, as you say, shooting victims come down with a sudden case of amnesia, either because they fear further attacks if they identify their assailant, or they plan on "handling it" themselves. You could conceivably lock someone up for obstruction of justice if they fail to cooperate, but it's very difficult to prove beyond doubt that the person knew their attacker. Bottom line is, there are parts of Washington, even up close to the hospital, where decent people are at risk when they travel there. As I've said frequently before, there are parts of the city where I will absolutely not drive, even in the daytime. And at night, there aren't very many parts of Washington where I would feel entirely comfortable walking the streets. It's a sad state of affairs, because I can remember as a kid coming with my parents to do our shopping at Murphy's and the other stores in downtown Washington. A lot has changed, and not for the better.

Not as a rule, no. The victim of a crime can choose not to press charges for example.
