The Gallup numbers for him have tended to waver between 50 and 58 approval and 46 and 38 disapproval. They were at 50 at least a couple times already over the last few months only to take an upswing before coming back down again. The fact remains that a 50 to 42 rating is a majority approval.

| OK What's your point. 51% 42% The disapproval numbers are up! Thats my point why are we quoting polls everyone can find a different poll with different results it proves nothing, other than we are mind numbed robots who care what other people think about a certain position. |

I quoted the same poll you quoted, Dazes!  And I don't really care about other people's positions, but conservatives are always trying to make it sound like they're the voice of the people and everyone agrees with them so they must be right...For instance, cons keep saying that everyone is against healthcare reform and Obama and the Dems are trying to cram it down their throats...that's just not true...

What is the truth? If the American people are for it why hasn't it passed? The truth is most Americans do want health reform just not the one that was being rushed through without our representatives reading it. Transparency? Think not! |

Quite simply because the American people do not pass legislation; Congress does. I read earlier this month that several blue dog districts actually poll heavily in favor of not just reform, but a public option. That alone accounts for a lack of correlation between public opinion and Congressional opinion.

Not if the lobbyist checks are big enough. Refer to the blog post I made on that a couple weeks ago. Democrats are just as paid off as Republicans too. They pull in massive amounts of cash from the health insurance and pharmaceutical industries and still keep their jobs because the people running against them don't threaten the status quo and the ones that do can't campaign because they can't compete with those huge lobbyist donations.
