Would you avoid downtown Washington if parking rates increase?

Avoiding downtown washington for me would be like avoiding downtown wasilla... I do it even when I'm not trying to do it Smile

Unless you work there, there isn't any good reason to go to downtown Washington now. The best thing the city could do would be close Main St. between Chestnut and Beau, put a canopy over it and turn that section into a strip mall.

I go to the downtown area only to visit the County offices. I used to park for free along the road further down the hill (Beau Street?), but I think they've put in meters now. Mad

I'd still have to go to town now and then no matter what the parking rates are.

Since dahtahn Worshington is over 1600 miles from my house, parking's not the primary reason i don't go there. Wink

Chestnut street is enough of a reason for me not to go into Washington... parking doesn't matter when you find it maddening to even arrive in the first place
