Cy-wouldn't the "republican hive mind" also apply to Mike Moore fans? Farakhan? Jesse Jackson's fans? Sharpton? All are guilty of insane ramblings, all are obviously democrat and all have faithful followers. _________________

Dazes, I think its sad that you think anyone who buy's Beck's line of crap isn't unintelligent. As far as mainstream America, I would think of them as "voters." Who'd they elect this time? I rest my case.
tetriS, there are certainly mindless ignoramuses who parrot liberal talking heads without a single thought of their own as well, but they are far fewer. The proof of this to me is liberal talking heads have lower ratings and are far outnumbered by conservatives. The conclusion I draw from that is that conservatives need to be told what to think. _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Help me to understand this:
Beck gets millions of listeners, on FOX, a successful news media...
NBC is going bankrupt.....
[quote]Now, here is where I need help......why is NBC going bankrupt, and FOX NEWS CHANNEL is prospering????? |
The combination would be complex, if not unwieldy. One scenario, apparently in the talking stages, would involve the formation of a private joint venture, with Comcast owning 51% and the remainder going to GE. The component parts would include Comcast's video, high-speed data, and telephone services, along with a couple dozen cable networks from both companies. |
NBC isn't going bankrupt, GE is going to sell of 51% of it though |
GE will eventually rid itself of this dead horse.....GE does not need a loser piece of chit tv network that screwed itself by playing politics, and siding with the LIBCHIT SICKOS....
The years I spent at GE led me to believe it was a highly Repub oriented company. Just keep my pension coming even if that means selling NBC. |

I refuse to believe that people who listen to Beck and Limbaugh et al.
are somehow not as "smart" as I am... Political affiliation is not an IQ
test; anymore than is religious persuasion...James Carville is not
smarter than Beck, (but he is just as rude....) The intellectual fundamentalism you find so distasteful in the Beck supporters, could easily be
lobbed right back at Bill Maher and Michael Moore followers....
I agree with you that people should, when possible, think freely...
But when their thoughts find echo in a voice that represents a philosophy
you don't happen to agree with.....you assume they are either stupid or
brainwashed, or both.....And they, to their discredit, accuse you of the same.... This
is hubris, on both sides, and does nothing but add noise to the message.

It's not the political ideology that is "stupid"... but the manifestation of it. Glenn Beck has commodified conspiracy theory BS on a scale not seen for a while... There are very intelligent, reasonable, and laudable conservatives out there in the mould of Buckley, et al... Glenn Beck is not one of those people... He and his ilk don't just participate in the conversation, they make their own conversation... death panels, nazi youth, birth certificates... they create a shadow monster and steer everyone into debating the merits of a pile of crap that they, themselves, laid. _________________ The end is nigh! What e said. People who are brainwashed by Beck (and they ARE brainwashed if they repeat his propaganda), are just as stupid as people who parrot Maher or Moore. And its not an assumption, its blatantly obvious to anyone who doesn't have a predisposed bias towards conservatism, faux libertarianism, or anything else Beck pretends to champion. _________________ The end is nigh! "If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb
in every battle," -- Sun Tzu, The Art of War
The manifestation of "stupidity" that Glenn Beck seems to generate,
is still a quite powerful enemy to liberal progressives. It's not a
shadow monster, as much as a monster in the shadows...Ridicule it
all you want, but it remains a very strong current in contemporary
political opinion...I don't believe his followers are stupid or brainwashed..
I believe they are disenfranchised, working hard, and searching for
solutions....Maybe he gives them an easy way out, maybe he has
actually discovered a conspiracy....We won't know unless we listen....
The fact remains that the Democratic party has, so far, failed
miserably in its promise to provide universal health care, and a large
part of that failure is due to the influence of people like Mr. Beck... _________________ where-ever you get it - there you have it. - Anon. |

well said thinker. It would seem that Cy is stuck back in 2004 where everyone who disagrees with the democrats is stupid or a dumb redneck. _________________

That's absolutely correct. Perhaps the disagreement then is over whether or not this is a good thing.

Don't put words in my mouth. Redneck is a pejorative and uneeded label. People that believe Beck are stupid, and I would be willing to bet an IQ test of his listeners would prove that. _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Yes. I can't argue with that... but I do have to point out that the biggest obstacle between us an universal health care are BS conspiracy theories generated by the Beck crowd...
Honestly, the easiest way to deliver on the promise of universal health care is through single payer... now, if single payer were the remotest of possibilities, do you think that beck would decry this as the absolute end of humanity as we know it? Yes.
Hell, we lost WEEKS on the health care debate because a half-retarded broad from the arctic circle farted something into cyberspace about death panels... Freakin' death panels. That is a big shadow monster... completely fabricated, completely false, completely BS... and yet it became THE discussion for half of August. _________________ The end is nigh! wow. cool.. As I've already stated, I listen to Beck...
And I would love to share the results of an IQ test...
(Though it would prove nothing except who is better
at taking IQ tests....)
Still, this is a challenge, and though it might be a great
mistake, and is most certainly a major distraction from
the issues at hand, we should man up, and face the contest..
Being a gentleman, I will allow you to pick the format and
the venue and the date...
Patiently awaiting a response from your advocate....

P.S. Are we betting real money..? If so, I may need
to ask Busdriver for a loan.... _________________ where-ever you get it - there you have it. - Anon. |

Right, and people who believe Rachel Maddow are of the Einstein caliber.
