2nd grade teacher who owns the Lexus, Librarian who visits our school on Mon. and Frid. and together n Mon. were talking about how wonderful getting the Olympics would be for Chicago. Both adored and canvased for Obama. Fri. at 12 noon were together in the office when I told them we didn't get it! Now Brant are you questioning my truthfulness, because one thing I never lie and when you accuse me of that it will be either war or I am done with you and this forum. If you would like pictures of the Lexus which by the way E is at least 3 years old so I don't know if it could be a hybrid, I'll get them, if you want pictures of the 2nd grade teachers room with all her Obama artifacts in plain view, I can get them. | Phony, I know I am many things, but when someone accuses me of lying, that sends me over the edge. I don't recall ever calling anyone on this forum a liar an ass maybe but not a liar. I have admitted my shortcomings and biases and really have no defenses for them. But this is a deal breaker for me! Sorry Phony! |

All I'm saying, Dazes, is that I think you impute reactions to people in a way that is probably a misconception, or perhaps wishful thinking on your part. I find it hard to believe that anyone would abandon their support for Obama, or think anything less of him, because of the loss of the Olympic games to Brazil. And I'm sure that there are people driving gas-guzzling SUVs who are Obama supporters, but like Cy, my experience has been that the big Hummers and vehicles like that are much more likely to carry W, McCain and/or Palin stickers.

Brant, I didn't know that the Osama SUV Czar has the authority to tell us what type of car we should buy.....this is still the U.S.A., and not the Union of Soviet States.....RIGHT????

These survey results reveal that SUV drivers are marginally more likely to be Republicans (29 to 22%). The bigger and probably more obvious difference is with pick-up trucks, (15 to 3% in favor of Republicans). The biggest grouping for Democrats is Sedans/Coupes at 50%, compared to 36% for Republicans.

I never said they were giving up on Obama. I said it was funny their reaction, like oh god he lost again. Sometimes things are just what they are. You read too much into the whole thing. I'm also not saying Liberals are the only ones driving SUVs. I was talking about a specific group that we refer to as Limo Libs. |

Yeah, still not buying it. No one who voted for Obama is saying "oh no he lost again." Referring to certain liberals as "Limo Libs" sounds like a copout for not having to confront what they are saying.
