| We has to care because we all pay taxes so if I read this correctly, We can't have a say, but We pay most of the taxes? Seems fair. We pay for some of my family members to go to FL for 3 weeks while we stay home because We can't afford to go to out of our front yards. Seems fair. We are sorry that We are being so closed minded. We should all get on the bandwagon. On for all and all for WE! Got it now, We just had to sit an figure it out. |

| The majority of who disagrees? Do you darling only speak to like minded people? My neighbor is the Tax Collector for our township and she is a true Dem. She thinks we are all getting the shaft. Too many taxes, she says she doesn't know how people are going to do it. I haven't heard from anyone except one teacher who believes we need to pay more. Your it bud. By the way this teachers and husbands income is approx. $275,000. a year. Own 2 Lexuses and a Delorian and pays her sons mortgage payment. She can pay more and so can you if you feel that strongly about it, just send extra. Honestly Cy I know no one who wants to pay more. |

I'm not going to cry a river for someone who is going to pay an extra couple percentage points in taxes on her 275k household income... Maybe they can sell that 80's tool-mobile to cover it or tell their deadbeat son to pay his own damn mortgage.
The fact is, even if EVERY "Warned about" tax that the right is saying is coming down the pike happens, her tax rate will still be LESS than what it was under Reagan... so, unless the 80's were a socialist dystopia, she can go spin her yarn of woe somewhere else

Everybody is talking about taxes going up right now. Barack Obama's approval rating is still 51%. That's a mandate. Just because your only friends are Republicans and blue dog Democrats does not mean they are an accurate representation of the American public. Unless you have 100 million friends.

That's hilarious coming from the master of crying like a child. Its not "MY WAY," its the mandate's way. Face it: the majority elected Obama. The majority still supports him as of this morning's polls. Therefore, the majority is behind his decision making. The majority also said in a 2008 poll that they believed he would raise taxes if elected. You know what that means? The majority is going to support him even if their taxes go up because they believe he is doing the right thing. The sooner you learn to accept that you are currently in the minority, the better.

Cy-while I do not disagree with what you just posted I do have a question. Bush, who won 51 percent of the vote in 2004 said he now had a mandate from the American people and was made fun of by every imaginable democrat for saying that. But now, a 51% approval rating is a "mandate"

I'm not "every imaginable democrat." If he won the election with 51% of the vote, then he had a mandate. How long into his second term did he maintain that level of support? Obama still currently has a 51% approval rating meaning he still currently controls a mandate.

I think Congress almost never has an approval rating above 40%. The last time it was close was World War II I believe. So its ignored because it has always sucked.
