DVE was pretty funny this morning... they want people to call in and tell them about anyone that you meet from the area who doesn't know what's going on in the burgh today and tomorrow...
"Hey Joey, wutz goin' on dahntahn? I seen a crahd a peeple on da bridge n at ahn da newz. Yinz know der wuz sum kinda meetin' dahntahn?"

So, I spent the early evening in the Brentwood area which is not too far from the Allegheny County Airport. There were sooo many helicopters flying overhead. Surveillance? Dignitary transport? Dunno, but it was weird.

| Boo, worked closed down for 2 days. Smallman Street! So in an effort to get away, he went to Detroit to see a couple of old friends. He left one loony bin for another! |

My friend in Pgh told me today that they've seen windows of businesses busted out in their neighborhood. There were protesters marching up their street this afternoon with several law enforcement helicopters hovering overhead.
Though she's po'd by the protests, she said she was glad she could show her kids the protesters marching in their street. She used it as a lesson on our freedoms of speech & assembly, pointing out that in many other places in the world such protests are prohibited.

Anyone else watching the news? Oakland seems to be a gathering point with most of the people standing around watching what's happening but not realizing they are a part of it. Once the police start with the tear gas, maybe they'll get it. Just go home already. It's bedtime.

This has got to be tough on the cops, let alone the residents who are just trying to go about their day. i was involved in lots of street protests back in the day and we were never violent. Loud, yes. Violent or destructive, no. We were also trained to be as respectful to the police as possible - they're just trying to do their jobs.

Oh, yes, my junior socialist pig kids......let's go out and bust a few windows of business owners (they're capitalist pigs anyway)....burn a few cars, bust some water plugs......it's just a way of protesting and showing we have freedom of speech......

This story says she threw her bike at the officers and was then arrested. No mention of why she threw the bike...
